Rachael Ray Fuming Over Story in Competing Magazine

Jun 4, 2010  •  Post A Comment

Talk show host and Food Network star Rachael Ray, who has her own magazine, is fuming about the fact that another magazine used outtakes from a previous photo shoot and old quotes for a cover story about Ray in its current issue, reports the New York Post.

The magazine Ray is pissed at is Good Housekeeping, who did its cover story on Ray despite that fact that Ray never talked to the publication.

The images and words used in the Good Housekeeping piece, according to the Post, were from a February 2008 issue of Every Day with Rachael Ray.

A spokesperson for the magazine told the Post, "We are disappointed that a respected publication such as Good Housekeeping is essentially using, without permission, Rachael’s image, words and thoughts in an attempt to sell a few more magazines."

Good Housekeeping defended its decision to create a cover story without the star’s cooperation, the Post said, by saying, "The photo expresses her personality, and we hope the story gives readers a snapshot of her busy life, career and passion for entertaining."

It is not uncommon for publications to write profiles about subjects who decline to speak to those doing the profiling.
