Rose Bowl Loses Longtime Sponsor

Citing issues surrounding the takeover of the Rose Bowl college football broadcast by ESPN, the game’s prime sponsor for seven years is bowing out, reports Sports Business Journal.

Citi, which has decided not to renew its agreement with the BCS game, noted that with ESPN taking over the sports network would have the power to decide how and where it would spend Citi’s money as the key sponsor. Citi added that ESPN might be burdening the company with more BCS ad inventory than it wanted.

Reportedly, AT&T might be interested in taking over the Rose Bowl sponsorship.
