A Facebook campaign started to get her on the show has succeeded in securing a date for Second City veteran Jane Lynch, a star of Fox’s hit "Glee," to host NBC’s "Saturday Night Live" this coming year, reports Movieline.com.

Lynch, who plays the mean cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester on the Fox program, will host the comedy show’s Oct. 9 broadcast, the story says. Her ‘SNL’ hosting gig comes after a similar campaign on the social-networking site to get comedian Betty White on the show.
