Red carpet interviewer and comic Joan Rivers has been signed to star in "Fashion Police," a new weekly series from the E! Channel.

Upgraded from its previous special status, the new “Fashion Police” series kicks off Monday, Aug. 30, at 10 p.m. ET with an hour-long Primetime Emmy Awards event.

On Friday, Sept. 10, at 10:30 p.m., "Fashion Police" moves to its regular weekly time slot.

Rivers will be the hostess and her daughter Melissa Rivers will be co-executive producer of the program with Joan.

In a statement, Joan Rivers said, “Melissa and I are so excited to bring viewers ‘Fashion Police’ on a weekly basis. It’s great to be on E! where I can speak my mind about celebrity fashion choices, including the hits, misses and everything in between.”
