Fox News Star Leaving the Network

Aug 25, 2010  •  Post A Comment

Fox News White House reporter Major Garrett is leaving the network to take a position with the National Review, Mediaite.com reports.

Effective Sept. 3, Garrett will be gone. Garrett’s addition to National Review is seen as a way for the publication to go after Politico.com.

As for Fox News, White House correspondents Wendell Goler and Mike Emanuel will take over the beat.

In a statement, Garrett said, ““Throughout my television career, I’ve known with certainty I would someday return to my roots in print journalism. That day has come. … I will miss many dear Fox News journalists, colleagues and friends. I wish all of them success. I look forward to discussing my future work on Fox News–keeping in touch with an audience I’ve come to know and cherish.”

  1. I just hope Goler can ask the tough questions. Major Garrett pulled no punches. The Demos will be glad to see him move on!

  2. Goler is good and not as big a ham as Garrett. It will be more straight reporting which Fox needs to get back to, before they start to lose share like CNN did when they stopped just reporting news.

  3. Great wordpress blog here.. It’s hard to find quality writing like yours these days. I really appreciate people like you! take care and see you soon
