Fox has settled on the right landscape to stand in for Earth as it looked 85 million years ago for its time-travel series "Terra Nova," reports The Hollywood Reporter.
That landscape will be a corner of Fox boss Rupert Murdoch’s birth country: Queensland, Australia. The production will mostly be set around southeastern Queensland, a state which includes sights such as the Great Barrier Reef and cities such as Brisbane and Cairns, and will hire about 80% of its cast and crew from among local residents, the story says.
"Queensland had the right look, climate and terrain, a vibrant production community and attractive economic incentives," said Jim Sharp, executive vice president of production for 20th Century Fox Television.
