Good News, Bad News on Upcoming Apple TV–Along With a Name Change

Aug 12, 2010  •  Post A Comment

Details are surfacing on the upcoming updated version of Apple TV, and not all the news is good, Engadget reports.

The $99 set-top box, containing similar processing and storage capabilities to the iPhone 4, reportedly won’t be capable of handling 1080i or 1080p video, settling instead for 720p. But it will get a number of apps that may be comparable to those available for iPad and iPhone.

As for the name, the device is now going to be called iTV–the same name that was used when Apple TV was originally announced, according to the report.
