NBC’s Jay Leno went to the Gulf Coast for a performance Saturday night to raise funds for those affected by the BP oil disaster, reports the AP.

More than 1,000 people showed up to watch Leno in concert at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi, Miss., where Leno raised close to $100,000 for the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.

The exact figure on the oversized check was $90,336, but Jay reportedly made up the difference out of his own pocket to bring the total to about $100,000.

  1. I know a lot of people don’t like Jay, but that was a good thing that he did and he didn’t get enough credit in the media.
