Michael J. Fox Makes Return to TV–as Cynical Lawyer Willing to Use His Neurological Condition to His Advantage

Five-time Emmy Award winner Michael J. Fox will return to TV this fall with a guest spot on CBS’s "The Good Wife," the Orlando Sentinel reports.

He has been cast as a "shrewd and cynical litigator" on the legal drama, squaring off against star Julianna Margulies’ character, Alicia.

Fox’s character, Simon Canning, is described by CBS as “willing to use anything in court, including symptoms of his neurological condition, to create sympathy for his otherwise unsympathetic client: a giant pharmaceutical company.”

Fox has been semi-retired from acting for about 10 years. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 1991 and went public with his condition in 1998. He has appeared in a few guest arcs on TV series in recent years, including “Boston Legal” in 2006, an appearance that earned him an Emmy nomination, and “Rescue Me” in 2009, for which he won an Emmy.
