Phew: Time Warner Cable Customers Are Congratulating Themselves for Getting Tough and Not Rolling Over as Time Warner Cable and Disney Set Carriage Deal

Aug 30, 2010  •  Post A Comment

Just 10 days before the National Football League’s opening of its regular season and on the eve of the fall television season, Time Warner Cable and Walt Disney Co. have set a carriage agreement, reports the New York Post.

The agreement in principle means that Time Warner Cable customers will avoid a blackout of ESPN and ABC programs on the cable system, the story points out.

The current contract between the two companies expires on Thursday, a week before the NFL season opens in New Orleans with a match between the Saints and the Minnesota Vikings. Few details of the proposed deal are known, such as how much Disney was able to earn for ABC, the story says.

Both companies’ legal teams still need to review the terms, the article adds.

We’re guessing that Time Warner Cable customers around the country are congratulating themselves for getting tough and not rolling over.

  1. Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers,

  2. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

  3. The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

  4. What kind of matter really, thank you for sharing, we have a common interest.

  5. I mean, I could see all this fuss over the guy if he’d led Jersey to the Finals

  6. Thanks for posting this article. I’m unquestionably frustrated with struggling to search out pertinent and rational comment on this subject. Everybody nowadays goes to the very far extremes to either drive home their viewpoint that either: everyone else in the planet is wrong, or two that everyone but them does not really understand the situation. Many thanks for your concise, applicable insight.
