"American Idol" winner Fantasia Barrino overdosed on aspirin and a sleep aid following an "overwhelming" day of negative media attention over a relationship with a married man, reports TMZ.com.

 According to a statement issued by a representative, Barrino took the medication after being "overwhelmed by the lawsuit and the media attention" surrounding her relationship with Antwaun Cook. The statement says she had recently read a complaint from Cook’s wife against him. Barrino’s "injuries are not life threatening. She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time. Fantasia is stable now. She will be released from the hospital soon," the statement said.
