People.com is reporting that a well-known actor-singer is out of the running as an "American Idol" judge after her demands "got out of hand," according to an unnamed source in the story.

Fox didn’t have comment, and a representative for Jennifer Lopez  didn’t immediately return a call. The New York Post, however, reports that Lopez is still under consideration, citing a source close to the singer .

The singer and actor has been close to a deal to joining the show as a permanent judge, filling one of the slots left vacant by departing judges Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres. Fox is considering a number of people to fill the slots, including Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler.
