Aug 26, 2010  •  Post A Comment

Scotsman Sir Sean Connery, who once starred as James Bond in a number of movies, including "Never Say Never Again," has said just that.

In an interview with the Edinburgh Evening News on the occasion of his 80th birthday yesterday, Aug. 25, 2010, Connery said, ""I don’t think I’ll ever act again. I have so many wonderful memories but these days are over."

Though he continues to do voice-over work for animated films and games, he has not appeared in a live-action film since "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" in 2003.

Another famous actor, James Cagney, retired in 1961, but finally returned to the screen 20 years later, when he was 83, to appear in the movie "Ragtime."
