Video: On Eve of Labor Day’s Muscular Dystrophy Telethon, Jerry Lewis Says He’d Like to ‘Smack [Lindsay Lohan] in the Mouth’

Evidently nothing gets Jerry Lewis, 84, more enraged than an out-of-control starlet, according to an interview with Lewis on Inside Edition.

Lewis, who will host the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon for the 60th time this weekend, unleashed a rant about Lindsay Lohan and other troubled stars who take their celebrity for granted.

"I think they need a f*****g spanking! And a reprimand!" Lewis, says in the interview with "Inside Edition."

"It has nothing to do with [money and fame], it has to do that they have the intelligence of a box of rocks. A bag of snails will give you better answers than those people….I think a great deal of it is ignorance and crying for something other than fan love."

Asked specifically about Lohan, Lewis said, "I’d smack her in the mouth if I saw her. I’d smack her in the mouth and be arrested for abusing a woman."

"Inside Edition’s Jim Moret then asked, "What would you say to her?"

"I would say ‘you deserve this and nothing else.’ Whack! And then if she’s not satisfied, I’d put her over my knee and spank her. And then put her in rehab. And that’s it."

Here’s the Inside Editon interview with Jerry Lewis:

  1. I know he was terribly ill several years ago and it appears he has rallied from that illness. But do I detect a hint of Parkinson’s or another palsy in his demeanor?

  2. I’m no Jerry Lewis fan, but it’s only fair to note that Lewis goes on to say some things that are surprisingly sympathetic and appropriate about celebrity lifestyles and professional obligations. These points are lost due to the shock value of his other, ill-advised comments. But his larger points are on target. Sadly our industry is all-too-happy to squeeze the life out of addicted juvenile stars for a bump in ratings or circulation.

  3. Jerry is someone who always understood that fame is a gift from the public. I worked with him on the telethon many years ago and he would always acknowledge the public when recognized. And his dedication to this particular cause is unmatched by any celebrity except Bob Hope’s dedication to USO and Audrey Hepburn’s to UNICEF. It is easy to do a one night relief concert, but to dedicate 40, 50, 60 years without a break to single cause is very laudable.

  4. Succinct and to the point, Jerry. Well put, Mr. Lewis. Have a great telethon.

  5. The flaunting of illegal drug use in the entertainment industry has given these children the direction to take while their parents see nothing wrong with unsuppervised actions of their “little star children”.
The whole entertainment Industry is paying for what was done by “stars” of yesteryear , rape, drugs, suicide , murder and no one pays for it except those who pay to support their acts by attending their perfomances!!!!
    Rehab is a Joke !

  6. It’s called class and scruples and her family has neither. What do you expect.

  7. Thanks for your visiting this http://www.glamour-watch.com/replica-pen online store.

  8. iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

  9. I cant believe the NHL is going to risk losing one of the best players in his prime to the nHL
