CNN’s ‘Parker Spitzer’ Has Another Problem Besides Ratings: Trouble Getting Guests

Oct 13, 2010  •  Post A Comment

CNN’s new evening panel show "Parker Spitzer" is having problems beyond poor ratings, reports the New York Post.

Because the new show features hosts new to television — former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer and conservative columnist Kathleen Parker — and because its first-week ratings were poor, the program is having trouble booking guests, the story says.

Bookings for the program have been pushed to the last minute, making it impossible for CNN to issue press releases on upcoming appearances, which it does for other programs, the story notes.

The number of people watching the show, which averaged less than 500,000 viewers in its debut week, combined with poor reviews have created "a lethal combination that has convinced facetime-happy Beltway gasbags to stay away," the story notes.

  1. I can’t help myself, but I’m extatic to see Spitzer failing. I am disgusted by the trend to glorify disgraced politicians.

  2. The former Clinton News Network must be really deep in the hole to put that whore monger Spitzer on, especially across from O’reilly. CNN should strictly stick with news because they fail just like MSNBC at everything else.

  3. Well said my friend. Put the dirtbags into shows where people expect them, like “Jersey Shore”.

  4. I know this is radical, but CNN may do best by just running news. There is no prime time news anymore and counterprogramming may be exactly what they need.

  5. Agreed, prime time news would absolutely put CNN where they should be back in the real news network business, there’s enough talking heads already on to go around twice! Think Parker-Spitzer is bad, wait until you see Mr. King’s slot re-worked.

  6. Hawdy Great Reading!!! I I got here searching Yahho I know I will Visit In the future Do not forget to Stop Over my website
