ESPN Draft Expert Mel Kiper Under Scrutiny After Sports Illustrated Expose

The Sports Illustrated cover story in which former sports agent Josh Luchs admits to paying college athletes could implicate ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper, reports SportsNewser.

ESPN is now investigating Kiper to determine any impropriety, the story reports. Luchs claimed in the SI article that Kiper worked closely with NFL agent Gary Wichard to influence Wichard’s potential clients through his draft rankings.

Kiper has admitted having conversations with players and agents, but says such interaction has been above board. “These conversations have never compromised my integrity, and my 32-year record supports that,” Kiper said in a statement.
