Fox News has re-signed one of its anchors to a new multi-year contract, reports TheWrap.com.
Terms were not announced for the deal between Fox News Channel and lead anchor Shepard Smith. In 2007, when Smith signed his previous deal, it was for three years for at least $7 million a year.
Roger Ailes, Fox News chief, issued a statement about Smith’s new deal: “Shep is a rare journalist whose signature style leads the news industry while embodying the traits of great newsmen of past generations. His talent, passion and dedication to journalism is unmatched and we’re proud that he’ll continue in this role for many years to come.”
Smith continues to anchor the Fox News 7 o’clock newscast.
