In what may be a sign that people aren’t flooding onto pay-television services over the Internet, Hulu plans to cut its monthly subscription fee for HuluPlus to $4.99 from $9.99, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Company Town blog.

The service, which debuted in June, has been slow to draw subscribers, with some complaining about the service’s limited offerings, the story says. For instance, the service offers the current season of popular shows such as "Glee," although doesn’t offer episodes from earlier seasons, the article points out. Hulu declined to comment on the price cut, which reportedly will happen as early as this week, the story says.
