Oscar, Tony and Emmy winner Al Pacino is returning to HBO, where he recently won an Emmy for his performance as Jack Kevorkian in last season’s "You Don’t Know Jack," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

This time around he will play music producer Phil Spector, the story reports.

Playwright David Mamet is working on the project, which is in the early development stages as a television movie.

Spector’s legendary music career will be a backdrop for the picture, which will concentrate more on the 2003 murder of actress Lana Clarkson. Spector was convicted of second-degree murder in her shooting death and the 70-year-old Spector in currently behind bars serving 19 years to life.

Pacino also won an Emmy for HBO’s “Angels in America,” along with an Oscar for “Scent of a Woman.”
