Last year’s Oscar winner for Best Actor will be hosting the Dec. 18 episode of "Saturday Night Live," 27 years after he first co-hosted the show, reports the Los Angeles Times.

It was in 1983 that the Oscar winner, Jeff Bridges, and his older brother Beau co-hosted the show.

The span of time between then and now, 27+ years, is a record for hosting.

Sigourney Weaver had held the record, 23 years between her first time and most recent hosting chores.

The story says that Jeff will be on the show, in part, to promote his new film, a remake of "True Grit." Jeff will be playing the same role that won an Oscar for John Wayne in 1969.
