If Simon Cowell gets his way, in the next five years he will have his name on as many as six entertainment brands, reports Deadline.com. The third show–following “The X Factor” and “Got Talent”–is already in the works, the story says.
Unlike "The X Factor" and "Got Talent," the next show will reportedly not be a talent competition. However, the company has not said much else about it.
Cowell, who walked away as celebrity judge on Fox’s "American Idol" last season, is planning the new program for after "The X Factor" launches in America next fall. It will almost certainly go first to U.K. broadcaster ITV, according to the report.
Ellis Watson, the managing director of Cowell’s U.K. production company Syco, took a shot at Endemol while discussing Cowell’s plans, saying, "What I need to do now is to make sure our third golden egg is as shiny and tasty as our first two. We are not going to be like Endemol. We are not going to be like a factory where we keep knocking them out and hope.”
