ABC Project ‘One Police Plaza’ Snags Angela Bassett as Police Commissioner

ABC’s drama project "One Police Plaza" has tapped Angela Bassett to play New York City’s first female police commissioner on the show, reports Deadline.com

The project, from ABC studios and the studio-based Mark Gordon Co., is written by Linda Fairstein and Kenneth L. Solarz, who will also executive produce with Gordon and Deborah Spera.

On television, Bassett –who was Oscar-nominated and won a Golden Globe for portraying Tina Turner in "What’s Love Got To Do wth It"–most recently co-starred on the last season of "ER." notes.
