Controversial ESPN Radio Host Cowherd Sells Comedy Project to CBS

ESPN radio host Colin Cowherd’s outspoken commentary has attracted controversy, but now has also drawn a sitcom deal from CBS, reports the Hollywood Reporter’s The Live Feed blog.

A project based on his life story has been picked up by the network, the story notes. Cowherd, who hosts "The Herd with Colin Cowherd,’ angered Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco earlier this year by noting that "70% of the NFL and NBA players are broke within five years of retirement."

Ochocinco wrote that the radio host should "just say I don’t like this black guy," then added "your girl is cheating on you."

The CBS TV Studios project has tapped writers Bill Martin and Mike Schiff, with executive producers Eric and Kim Tannenbaum of "Two and a Half Men," with Cowherd also getting a producer credit on the untitled project, the article notes.
