Interesting headline of an article posted on People.com tonight: "Gwyneth Paltrow to Serenade ‘Glee’ Viewers with the ‘F’ Word."

Well, not quite.

Yes, Paltrow will  appear on an upcoming episode of "Glee."

And the ORIGINAL version of the hip-hop song she will perform is indeed called "F— You" by Cee Lo Green.

But  the catchy version that was a hit on the radio  this past summer carried  the title "Forget You." And it’s that clean version that Paltrow will perform on "Glee," the People article says.

Of course "F___" is one of the famous seven dirty words you can’t say on TV.

But muscians have had problems with censorship over other words as well.

Most famously, in 1967, The Rolling Stones went on the "Ed Sullivan Show" to sing "Let’s Spend the Night Together." Sullivan himself told them they couldn’t say that line, so Mick Jagger changed the line to "Let’s Spend Some Time Together." In the video of that performance, below, you see what Sullivan couldn’t control—Mick rolling his eyes while singing the line.  A furious Sullivan then banned the Stones from coming back to his show.

  1. Really? We are such big babies we can’t handle a swear word, and more specifically one we know is intended here?
How about if we have to censor something into sounding totally stupid, we leave it alone? And in the meantime, we can all wear a big diaper and not listen to any naughty words.

  3. Look, I admit I use that word a little too often. But not around my kid and not around yours. I don’t want my kid to even hear that word till he’s an adult. I know-not likely. Still, it has NO PLACE on OTA TV. Period.
    Paragraph.
