If you’ve become addicted to watching the living escape the zombies on "The Walking Dead," the bad news is that after this season is over, you’re in for quite a wait until they rise again, reports The Hollywood Reporter’s The Live Feed blog.

AMC, which airs the program, isn’t likely to debut the show’s second season until next October, the story says. That’s because Halloween proved the perfect launching pad for the first season of the show, which is currently half over since it consists of just six episodes, the article notes. Still, the October plan isn’t final and there isn’t likely to be a firm debut date for some time, given that the second season, which will have 13 episodes, hasn’t even started production yet, the article adds.

Then again, TVWeek notes that fans of zombies have had long waits before. It was 10 years after George Romero made "Night of the Living Dead" that he made "Dawn of the Dead"
