Despite speculation that "The Insider" anchor Lara Spencer would take over as host of "Entertainment Tonight" as Mary Hart departs after nearly three decades on the job, the role is going to Nancy O’Dell, the host of "Access Hollywood," reports Deadline.com.
O’Dell will start on "ET" in January as a special correspondent and substitute anchor and will become a permanent co-anchor with Mark Steines after Hart leaves at the end of the 2010-11 television season, the story says.
“When Mary Hart told us she planned to leave ‘ET’ at the end of this season, we went into denial," said "Entertainment Tonight" executive producer Linda Bell Blue. "But we also knew we had one tough job to do–find someone to fill that seat. In Nancy we have found that someone."
According to TheWrap, "Bad blood ruined a deal for ‘The Insider’ host Lara Spencer to take over ‘Entertainment Tonight.’"
Nancy O’dell is gorgeous! Great addition to the show…I’ll watch!
Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
