OK, It’s True That Some of Us Forget to Vote. But Hard to Believe That Excuse When Your Last Name Is Palin

  1. Easy to forgive. Turnout among young people was low on Tuesday, 20%, which is not a surprise to me. Young people want to vote for rock-star candidates (e.g., Obama). When their feel-good choices turn out to be disappointments, they’d rather sit out the next election and await the next MTV-anointed candidate to whom they can emotionally respond. A more nuanced view comes from adult voters, although some of them give our President a pass because (a) it’s Bush’s fault in the first two years [suggesting anyone could have done as well as Obama], and (b) Obama can simply blame the Republican House for the next two years of record unemployment.

  2. Doug, everything you say about young voter turnout is true. Let’s be grateful this pale imitation of her crazy old lady, is also a loser. She doesn’t deserve to vote. We were all spared.

  3. How does the wreck being caused by Bush and co. imply that anyone could have done as well as Obama and co. in responding to it? Please explain your logic. I see none.

  4. How does the wreck being caused by Bush and co. imply that anyone could have done as well as Obama and co. in responding to it? Please explain your logic. I see none. Furthermore, what exactly do you think the President can do to stem or turn the tide of unemployment?

  5. “She doesn’t deserve to vote.”???????
Excuse me, Marianne. Who died and made you Fuhrer?

  6. Marianne “opined” as we all do in comments. Of course she desesrves to vote, we were just spared that the fame who*e’s spawn didn’t vote.
