TV personality Bill Nye, best known for his Emmy Award-winning 1990s show “Bill Nye the Science Guy,” collapsed a couple of times during an appearance Tuesday evening at the University of Southern California, the Los Angeles Times reports.

After he lost consciousness, paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department and members of USC’s department of public safety were called to attend to Nye, who was appearing as a guest speaker.

There has been no update regarding Nye’s condition since the event, which some students characterized as "bizarre" and "perplexing."

Some witnesses posted tweets indicating Nye, 54, fainted more than once and had slurred speech, according to the story.
