Spoiler Alert: ‘DWTS’ Results Restore Moral Order to the Country

After the allegations that Tea Party supporters were unduly influencing ABC’s "Dancing With the Stars" by over-voting for Bristol Palin, moral order was restored with Tuesday’s finale on the show, reports Mary McNamara in the Los Angeles Times. (Spoiler alert: results are mentioned below).

Despite those concerns, Palin, the daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, and her partner Mark Ballas came in third, with actress Jennifer Grey and her dancing partner Derek Hough winning the trophy. But the bottom line for "DWTS" is that while the controversy "not only drove up ratings for the already unbelievably popular show, [Palin] also brought a whole new level of scrutiny and Internet-driven weirdness to this season’s proceedings," McNamara writes.

  1. What would have been so wrong had voters chosen the least qualified dancer? After all, American voters chose the least qualified Presidential candidate in 2008.

  2. So you think that Mr. Obama was less qualified than Sam Brownback? Tom Tancredo? Fred Thompson? Duncan Hunter? Bob Barr? Cynthia McKinney? Alan Keyes? I’d advise you to go to http://whatthefuckhasobamadonesofar.com for a quick rundown on what the man’s administration has achieved in less than two years. It’s really phenomenal, considering the trash heap he inherited.

  3. @Doug: Your point is well taken, but you missed the most egregious example: DWTS voting pales in comparison to re-electing a candidate already proven incompetent – GW Bush – in ’04.

  4. I agree with your thoughts here and I really love your blog! I’ve bookmarked it so that I can come back & read more in the future.
