Time Reveals Nominees for Person of the Year; LeBron James, Glenn Beck, Lady Gaga, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert All On List

Time magazine has revealed the 25 finalists from which it will choose its Person of the Year.

The annual designation, which began in 1927 with aviator Charles Lindberg getting the award, is given to the person who has "done the most to influence the events of the year," NBA Fanhouse notes. Thus both Stalin and Hitler have been named in the past, along with many luminaries.

Here’s the list of 2010 nominees.Time also has a reader’s poll where you can vote for the person you think is the Person of the Year among the nominees, though it’s the magazine’s editors who pick the actual designee.
