Nielsen research shows that wealthier consumers tend to be users of digital-video recorders, reports MediaPost.com’s MediaDailyNews.

Adults in homes with incomes of $75,000 or more account for almost half of all DVR users, the story says. And adults in homes with incomes of $100,000 or more account for 29% of DVR users, the most of any income segment, the article notes.

Most of the DVR users are younger than 45 years old, although 38% were older than 45 as of May, when the data was collected. About 38% of all homes had a DVR as of September.
