TLC has tapped a controversial evangelical minister for a reality project that will air as a one-hour special, reports EW.com’s Inside TV blog.

The special, which will debut Jan. 16, tracks Ted Haggard as he announces a new ministry in Colorado Springs, Colo., the city he left after his scandal forced him to leave as the head of the National Association of Evangelicals, the story notes. Haggard was caught having an affair with a male prostitute and admitted he had been using crystal meth.

The article notes that TLC might expand the project into a full series if the special performs well.
