Innovative Crossover Event in the Works for Hit Sitcom and Daytime Soap

A popular soap opera and a hit sitcom are combining forces for an innovative crossover event that will place stars from each show on the other series.

Building on an episode from last season’s "Hot In Cleveland" on TV Land, ABC Daytime will send "All My Children" stars Susan Lucci, Darnell Williams and Michael E. Knight to the sitcom for appearances Feb. 16 and 23 at 10 p.m. ET. In exchange, Wendie Malick’s character on "Hot In Cleveland," a fictional former soap queen named Victoria Chase, will appear on the Feb. 24 episode of "All My Children."

In a statement, Julie Carruthers, executive producer of “All My Children," said, “We are thrilled Victoria Chase will join the cast of ‘All My Children’–there are very few actresses who could pull off a dual role performance as BOTH a maid and bartender."

Brian Frons, president of Daytime, Disney/ABC Television Group, added: “There is only room for one Erica Kane in Pine Valley, and Victoria Chase will unfortunately find that out the hard way. This is a unique opportunity to raise awareness of both shows with similar demos, and we expect each other’s viewers to follow from one show to the next.”
