Jeff Zucker, who is leaving his job as chief executive of NBC Universal following today’s expected closing of the Comcast merger, is opening his own company on New York’s Park Avenue and talking about starting a syndicated daytime talk show with CBS News anchor Katie Couric, reports the New York Post’s Claire Atkinson.

Zucker is expected to open his business at 299 Park Avenue, the home of investment bank UBS, the story notes. Couric is coming close to the end of her five-year contract with CBS and has told several parties who want to work with her that she’s planning to work with Zucker, the story says.

The pair are planning to create a new show format that could fill the hole left by departing daytime host Oprah Winfrey, the story adds. Couric’s representative said that she hasn’t made any decision about her future plans.
