More Legal Trouble for TV Star: Unpaid Restaurant Tab Leads to Felony Charge

A former television star who has run into legal problems in recent years is in trouble again, the Huffington Post reports. This time the trouble stems from an alleged unpaid restaurant tab of $59.35.

The star is Gary Collins, best known for hosting "Hour Magazine" and for roles in a slew of episodic TV shows, as well as for being the spouse of actress and former Miss America Mary Ann Mobley.

In Mississippi, Rodney McGilvary, assistant chief of the Biloxi Police Department, reported that Collins was arrested Tuesday after walking out of a restaurant without paying the tab. Police said the actor has been charged with a felony in connection with the incident. Collins was later released from custody.

Last November, Collins was arrested and accused of leaving the scene of a minor auto accident in Jackson, Miss. Collins paid the fine of $500 and was released at that time.

  1. Either Mr. Collins does not understand in hard times there is no gratis for current broadcast talent, or of the former kind. Gary, like the rest of us you have to pay the bill, and if you can’t afford it, you eat at McDonalds like the rest of us.
