An animated series based on the popular mobile game "Angry Birds" will soon be coming to television or the Web, reports the New York Post, citing an article in the British technology site C21media.net, which is only available to subscribers.

Rovio, the Finnish company that created the game, is producing the show, with Rovio Chief Executive Mikael Hed saying that "one of my personal big focus areas right now [is] to work on broadcast content for ‘Angry Birds’."

The application has been downloaded over 50 million times, attracting consumers with a game that features angry birds flinging themselves via a slingshot at green pigs who have stolen their eggs.

Hed didn’t say who he’s had discussions with or if "Angry Birds" will be on TV, the Internet or both mediums, the article notes.
