The upcoming Super Bowl will showcase two rival hair endorsements, with Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu–a spokesman for Head and Shoulders–getting some competition from Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews, who just signed a deal with Suave, SportsNewser.com reports.
Matthews has inked an agreement to promote Suave’s shampoo and hair care line, the story says. His Green Bay team will be playing Polamalu’s Pittsburgh team in Super Bowl XLV on Feb. 6, 2011.
Matthews’ marketing agent, Ryan Williams, said, “The idea behind Suave is that men need different products than women. Clay really wanted to do a deal like this.”
Matthews is known for his long blond locks, while the Steelers’ Polamalu is widely recognized by his flowing mane of dark hair.
