‘Walking Dead’ Resisted Pressure to Add Product Placements to Zombie Show

AMC’s "Walking Dead" resisted pressure to add product placements to the AMC zombie show, according to the show’s producer, Gale Anne Hurd, reports our friend Joe Adalian at New York Magazine’s Vulture blog.

After getting pressure to include scenes featuring specific products, Hurd said she and the show’s other producers decided that adding such commercial overtones would ruin the show’s apocalyptic, undead vibe, the story notes.

"Though you can imagine why the idea would be attractive to marketers: a product so good, it’ll get you through the end of times!" Adalian writes.
