Weather Reporter Offers Explanation for Her False Rape Claim

WABC-TV weather reporter Heidi Jones allegedly said she made up a story about a Hispanic man trying to rape her in New York’s Central Park because she was under stress, reports the New York Post.

According to court documents, Jones said she told the story "for attention. I have so much stress at work, with my personal life and with my family. I know there is no justification for it."

Her attorney, Paul Callan, said that Jones is presumed innocent and that the press coverage has been "unfairly characterizing and vilifying her," the article adds.

Jones, who also filled in on "Good Morning America," has been suspended by the network and faces up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine, according to the piece.

  1. I’ll leave it to the victims of sexual assault to explain to this woman how much damage false claims like hers do to the credibility of those who were actually attacked…

  2. “Stress” for a weather reportes? How can you have stress when you’re wrong 50%
of the time and never questioned?I wish my job had that leniency and acceptable margin of error.

  3. Great wordpress blog here.. It’s hard to find quality writing like yours these days. I really appreciate people like you! take care and see you soon

  4. High quality info here! Keep up the great work. I love the feelings being expressed.
