Discovery Communications Names New General Manager to Run One of Its Networks

Discovery Communications has named a new General Manager to run one of its major networks, the company has announced.

Amy WInter has been named General Manager of TLC, responsible for "all aspects of programming, production, development, new media and marketing for Discovery Communications’ U.S. female-targeted flagship, which is available in 99 million homes," the annoucement says.

Previously, WInter "served as TLC’s Senior Vice President of Marketing – Creative, where she was responsible for developing and implementing marketing initiatives to increase the network’s brand awareness, in tandem with Tom Carr, SVP of Marketing – Strategy," the release added.

Winter will report to Eileen O’Neill, Group President, Discovery and TLC Networks, who made the announcement today.

O’Neill also announced teh promoton of Edward Sabin to Group Chief Operating Officer, Discovery and TLC Networks. He will also report to O’Neill.

The announcement said that prior to his promotion sabin "served as COO of TLC, where he led overall network business strategy and oversaw the network’s digital and business development."
