The judge at Lindsay Lohan’s arraignment Wednesday stressed the seriousness of the felony grand theft charge against her, but for the media and the public, it seems all anyone wants to talk about is her white minidress, MSNBC reports.

Lohan, 24, showed up for court looking terrific in a body-hugging mini, prompting a flurry of opinions about whether it was appropriate attire. But according to the story the Kimberly Ovitz dress is a hot item and is sold out both in stores and online.

The dress reportedly sells for $575, and with increased interest after Lohan was seen in it, the manufacturer is contemplating retooling for another issue of the item.

The story says 78% of readers responding to a TodayShow.com poll said they thought the outfit was inappropriate for a court appearance. Lohan responded to her critics on Twitter, writing, “What I wear to court shouldn’t be front page news–it’s just absurd.”

The actress also reportedly repeated her claim of innocence in the theft case on her Facebook page, writing, “I was not raised to lie, cheat or steal.”
