MGM announced today that it has picked a new president of Domestic Television Distribution. Company Co-Chairmen and CEOs Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum announced that John Bryan has been promoted to the position.

Bryan is the executive vice president of MGM Domestic Television and the creator of the studio’s This TV Network, a free premium channel that reaches more than 85% of all broadcast households.

He will continue to work with This TV and will be involved in the launch of sister channel ME TV, along with working on “expanding MGM’s opportunities in first-run syndication, continuing to grow the studio’s domestic channels business and leading domestic television activities with MGM’s extensive film and television library.” the company said.

“With John at the helm of our domestic television arm, we benefit from both his experience in the syndication market and his enthusiasm for the medium. With his past successes, we are well-positioned to take MGM Domestic TV to the next level,” Barber and Birnbaum said in a statement.
