Is Sheen Crazy Like a … Fox? Actor Invokes First Amendment, Says Bosses at ‘Men’ Are in Breach. Also, Charlie Says He Got a Visit From CBS Chief Leslie Moonves

In the latest salvo from Charlie Sheen, the actor said of the standoff between himself and producers of his show, “We are at war and there are ways to deal with these clowns and take all their money.”

Directing his comments to the show’s crew, which is out of work as a result of the standoff, Sheen blasted the show’s producers, saying, "Defeat is not an option. They picked a fight with the wrong guy. … They are in absolute breach. I expressed an opinion and I got the First Amendment behind me.”

Sheen, the highest-paid actor on TV,  continued his self-declared “war” with his “Two and a Half Men” bosses at CBS and Warner Bros. with today’s tirade against them delivered during a call to a KLAC Sports radio show in Los Angeles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Among other highlights, Sheen said the set of the hit CBS sitcom “has been a toxic environment for eight years. I felt like an unwelcome relative, being given cold coffee at 9 o’clock every night. I just got tired of it, of people not knowing the truth."

Sheen also had a few things to say about CBS Corp. President and CEO Leslie Moonves, including confirming that Moonves went to Sheen’s home to convince him to seek treatment. "He rolled into my house and he made a man-to-man request, and I honored it," Sheen said. "And I asked for a couple of things, and he’s not honoring that. We’re pretty much done … unless he’s got a really good excuse for a guy who lives in the middle of the truth."

Sheen also said he is open to doing a ninth season of the show, “but not with the turds who are currently in place. It’s impossible. Can you imagine going back into the sludge pit with those knuckleheads at this point? It would go bad quickly."

  1. Chuck Lorre is not quite a public figure, who cannot be slandered or libeled, owing to fair comment or absent malice. On the other hand, CBS and WB were incredibly stupid not to have a morals clause.

  2. Isn’t it time we add a new catch phrase to the English language? I’m thinking along the lines of “Hey, don’t go all Charlie Sheen on me, bro!” I’m going to start using it immediately…

  3. How could such a thing!

  4. Doug is right about the morals clause. “Don’t go Charlie Sheen” on me stands for the new breed of self-sabotaging narcissistic psychos who have been given free reign to abuse others while it’s profitable to do so. CBS knew what it was getting into…

  5. I’m using it too. “Don’t go all Charlie Sheen on me, bro!”

  6. When will these whiny celebs understand the Bill of Rights.
The First Amendment forbids the creation of a law forbidding free speech. It does not insulate an individual from the consequences of his speech.
Sheen is a product of our sad People Magazine culture. He’s a drugged out Truther. He’s a child.
CBS needs to distance themselves from him ASAP.
