A TV and film actress best known for her role on a popular NBC sitcom has been formally charged with driving under the influence after being arrested Jan. 5 in Santa Monica, Calif., CBS News reported.

The actress is Jaime Pressly, known for playing Joy Turner on “My Name Is Earl,” which aired for four seasons on NBC, ending its run in 2009.

Pressly, 33, faces two misdemeanor charges in the case, the story says. She is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 7.

A little more than a week ago, Pressly filed for divorce from her husband of one year, lawyer, Simran Singh, the story adds. Pressly said the couple separated Dec. 27, citing irreconcilable differences.
