Wanna Advertise on ABC’s National Broadcast of the Oscars in a Couple of Weeks? Sorry, It’s Sold Out

ABC announced today that national ads for the 83rd running of the race for Oscar gold is sold out.

The Academy Awards telecast will be on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, and some of the advertisers who will run ads in the big show include Anheuser Busch, Unilever (Dove), Hyundai, JCPenny, Best Buy, P&G, AT&T, Coke, Amazon.com, the American Cancer Society, Cars.com, McDonald’s, Nokia, Paramount, Sprint, Summit Pictures, Unversal and Walt Disney Pictures. 

Historically, the cost of ads in the Oscars show is second only to the cost of ads in the Super Bowl. A 30-second national TV ad in the Academy Awards has been north of a million dollars for some time now.

And oh yes, the winner for Best Picture this year is…naw, why spoil the surprise.
