The professional dancing partner of Jennifer Grey–who won the last go-around of "Dancing with the Stars," won’t be on the show next season, reports TVLine.com

According to the report, Derek Hough decided to sit out the show’s 12th season to work on other projects.

“We wish Derek the best as he takes time off from Dancing with the Stars to pursue his film career and look forward to having him return to the show in the fall," said show executive producer Conrad Green, according to the story.

One of the projects Hough will work on is the feature film "Cobu 3D", the story notes.
