"120 Minutes," the show that ran on MTV from 1986 to 2000 and highlighted alternative bands, is set to return, reports the New York Times’ ArtsBeat blog.

Once again the show will be on MTV, and the host will be Matt Pinfield, who worked on the show from 1995 to 1999, the article says.

Even though the music industry has changed dramatically since the show went off the air, Pinfield notes, "there’s still more great bands and more new music and more people consuming and enjoying music than ever.”

He cited bands such as the British group Yuck and the New York band Pains at Being Pure at Heart as groups he’d like to feature on the show. In its first run, "120 Minutes" profiled musicians and bands such as Oasis and Sonic Youth, the story notes.
