ABC Wins Tuesday Ratings as ‘Dancing,’ ‘Body of Proof’ Perform Well

ABC got a narrow ratings win over CBS Tuesday night, as two hours of “Dancing With the Stars” programming combined with a strong season premiere for “Body of Proof,” TVbytheNumbers.com reported.

ABC averaged a 3.3 rating in the 18-49 demo to a 3.1 average for CBS, 2.3 for NBC, 1.9 for Univision and 1.3 for Fox. In total viewers, ABC eked out a win for the night by averaging 15.1 million to 14.5 million for CBS, 6.3 million for NBC, 4.5 million for Univision and 3.8 million for Fox.

At 8 p.m. CBS’s "NCIS" averaged a 3.75 in the 18-49 demographic for the hour, ahead of the first hour of "Dancing With the Stars," which had a mean score of 2.7 in the same demo. NBC’s "The Biggest Loser" averaged a 2.4 in that demo, while CW’s "One Tree Hill" trailed with 0.35 in the 18-49 demo.

At 9 p.m. hour two of "Dancing" climbed to a 4.15 average in the 18-49 demo, better than CBS’s "NCIS: Los Angeles" with a 3.45 in the same demo. Hour two of "The Biggest Loser" had a mean score of 2.8 in the 18-49 demo.

At 10 p.m. the premiere of ABC’s "Body of Proof" won the hour with a 3.0 average in the 18-49 demo, while CBS’s "The Good Wife" had a mean score of 1.9 and NBC’s "Parenthood" a 1.85 mean, both in the same demographic for the hour.
