‘All My Children’ at Risk as ABC Appears Poised to Trim Its Lineup of Daytime Dramas

ABC appears ready to join CBS and NBC in cutting its number of daytime dramas, and "All My Children" may be the soap that’s the most vulnerable to getting bumped off the air, reports Deadline.com.

The story points out that "All My Children," which is in its 41st year on television, has drawn its weakest ratings among women 18 to 49 years old in two recent weeks, placing it "dead last" among the six daytime dramas on TV.

ABC has managed to avoid cutting back its daytime dramas in part because the shows have been getting a second life on SOAPnet, but that network is changing its format to Disney Junior next year, the story says.

"All My Children" is known for its star Susan Lucci, who plays Erica Kane and is the most recognized daytime soap character, the article adds.

  1. Didn’t they just relocate the entire cast to LA? I’d be pissed!
