John Shiban, a writer for AMC’s Emmy-winning drama "Breaking Bad," is conjuring up a new series about close encounters of the alien kind, reports Entertainment Weekly.

The drama pilot, called "The Voyage," is the story of a female scientist who experiences first contact with alien invaders.

AMC is contemplating giving the pilot a green light, although it’s competing with a few other prospects, including one about the music business and another about a reporter in Washington, D.C.
